Xero Accounting

Founded in 2006 in New Zealand, Xero is now a global phenomenon and is our preferred online bookkeeping/accounting system. The combination of its clutter-free layout, powerful automation tools, integration with hundreds of partnered apps, customisable reports and constant innovation adds up to a system that is easy to learn and use while generating all the information that you and your accountant need.

We have been Xero partners since 2013 and have introduced dozens of clients and their staff to the system, many of whom were converts from other systems, but many first-timers too in the art of bookkeeping. All of our accounts and payroll staff are Xero-certified for either accounts or payroll (or both!), so there's always someone on hand who can help if you need it.

Xero have a culture of innovation and improvement and are always working away behind the scenes to add new features and generally improve your experience with the software, all of which you will benefit from on release, as the upgrades are automatic and included in your subscription. In recent years the changes have included:

• direct free bank feeds with most major banks
• CIS recording and reporting for both contractors and subcontractors
• updated and improved reporting
• integration with payment services, including card payments, PayPal and direct debit
• emailing bills directly into the system for automatic data capture
• updated VAT reporting to ensure all Xero businesses are compliant with Making Tax Digital

The system allows you to create multiple sales invoice styles, customised email templates for sending out invoices, statements, and other communications, and allows as many users as you wish, with access levels tailored to suit. Credit terms can be set per customer but can also be set per invoice. Reports can be easily generated and exported into pdf or Excel formats.

The system is designed to be as flexible as your business needs to be in this fast-moving age, and can be powered up even further when combined with Xero's own Payroll and Expense functions (see the separate sections on these) and the hundreds of external approved apps available via the Xero Marketplace.
